MCC Planning Department have sent a letter dated 28 August 2017 to Owr Construction Ltd asking for additional information. Copied below.
The letter requests a three-storey development and asks for a revised proposal based on a two-storey development. The nature and extent of the information requested would seem to indicate that they have very serious reservations about even this. If no response is received in six(!) months then the application is deemed to have been withdrawn. So 28 February 2018 is a date to put in your diary.
The proposed letter has now been submitted to Meath County Council. I’m anticipating from discussions that MCC may receive a couple of other letters. The closing date for submissions and comments is Tuesday 15 August.
MCC expect to make a decision on 5 September. If permission is granted to build the building, there is then a four week period within which an appeal can be made to An Bord Pleanala. Conversely, if Owr Construction are refused permission, they can also appeal the decision. Statistically, 25% of appeals are successful.
I don’t anticipate making any further updates until I receive notice of the decision, presumably 6 September or soon after.
